Clarence Valley residents who are concerned about the impact of flooding and are considering modify or raising their home are invited to hear from local experts at workshop next month about the best ways to ensure your property is prepared for the next flood.
Hosted by Living Lab Northern Rivers, the workshop at the Grafton Regional Gallery will give locals the opportunity to ask questions to Clarence Valley Council Planning and Recovery officers, staff from James Davidson Architects, and a NSW Reconstruction Authority Case Manager.
The workshop is deigned to help locals think through the critical issues that need to be considered before they start a project to make their home flood free.
If you live in a flood prone area and are considering modifying your property or raising your house above future flood levels to protect your family, property and belongings the free workshop will explore what it takes to implement your plan and the opportunities and challenges that could be encountered.
Even if you have qualified for government assistance to modify your property, or you own an old or new home, the workshop is designed to help people avoid the financial and emotional impacts of having a flood damage your home.
The community workshop will be held on Thursday, April 4, between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Grafton Regional Gallery, 158 Fitzroy Street, Grafton.
Places in the free workshop are limited, to secure your spot visit www.llnr.com.au/whatson
