There is a real nip in the air, so I am snuggled up under a blanket as I write this.
We all crave some reassurance and comfort in our lives sometimes. Our group is looking forward to meeting a couple of new members this month, it is always good to welcome new people that are able to share their knowledge and experiences. Many people feel socially isolated due to their health, some are housebound and rely on others to care for their needs and create their comfort.
If you have Fibromyalgia and need some compassion and understanding, the Fibromyalgia Support Group is for you. I was lucky enough to have found this wonderful group and have been a member for many years now. Our group is full of people who totally identify with the struggle that chronic illness brings.
We all have broad shoulders, listening ears and open hearts! We may have differing symptoms at different times, but all relate to the sheer exhaustion of trying to cope with the endless bombardment of Fibromyalgia. Come along to our meeting and see first-hand how sharing and caring can lighten the load. It is surprising just how good it feels to get validation for what you endure rather than disbelief and scepticism. Being amongst people that can provide positive affirmations, brainstorm issues and instil some positively has to be good for your mind, body and soul. We can all do with an injection of positivity from time to time and making others feel better is a wonderful way to nurture ourselves and improve our own mindset.
The Fibromyalgia Support Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month, at the Grafton District Services Club, in the dining room at 10am. Mark the 21st of this month on the calendar and come enjoy a cuppa with our group, just listen, share if you would like to, we provide a welcoming, non-judgemental environment full of compassion and empathy.
