A man has sadly passed away following a single vehicle collision in the Clarence Valley last week.

Around 1.40pm on June 13, emergency services were called to the scene on Armidale Road, Coutts Crossing.

Officers attached to the Coffs/Clarence Police District also attended and found a sedan had left the road and crashed into a tree.

Tragically, the male driver passed away at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The female passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Lismore Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
