While travelling some years ago in China, I became aware of the number of different colours kerbside bins came in.

I would think it would be great if our council would consider asking the contractor if it would be possible to supply a purple bin (to those who wanted one) in Grafton, and maybe a bright yellow to our beachside towns. I would naturally recommend “tartan” for Maclean, although it may be necessary to get a wrap as seen on some motor cars these days, in the past I have had problems explaining ‘tartan’ to Chinese cap manufacturers, no mention of clan.
It would only be necessary to purchase the bin body as the different lids could be transferred. Just a thought, and it may help our towns stand out.
