Artists inspect their waterfront concrete canvas

The opening of the new Grafton Waterfront Precinct is imminent, and the path itself will capture the historical, cultural and natural aspects of life on the Clarence River.

Local artists Pamela Denise, Rindi Salomon and Dani Gorogo toured the site recently week to discuss and refine their artistic concepts for works to be sandblasted into the new pavement at various sites along the river. These will be the finishing touches on the federally funded $6.5 million project.

The precinct is a flagship project within the Clarence River Way Masterplan, which aims to reinvent the Clarence as “one of the nation’s great river experiences” and redefine Grafton as a river city.
