Zig Zag Footpath a true engineering feat

A significant opening took place last recently – the new Zig Zag Path linking Flinders Park to Yamba Main Beach.
Clarence Valley Council Acting General Manager Laura Black joined Mayor Ian Tiley and Page MP Kevin Hogan to cut the ribbon to open the boardwalk style walkway.
“I would like to thank the amazing contractors and suppliers who built this project, and the engineers and surveyors who worked behind the scenes to test, design and provide advice on such a challenging site,” Ms Black said.
“Thanks to the ever-reliable Clarence Valley Council staff, especially Senior Field Operator Raffael Laurins who was on site from start to finish.
The $587,721 Zig Zag Path Upgrade included $180,000 in funding from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
