Zaffis makes Queensland final

Angourie surfer Chris Zaffis has placed fourth at the Australian Open of Surfing Sunshine Coast Pro held at Coolum Beach over the weekend.

2020 Qld state open male short-board runner-up Cooper Davies (Noosa, QLD) gained redemption by taking out the men’s division.

Davies defeated Alister Reginato (Alexandra Headland, Qld), Noah Stocca (Peregian Beach, Qld) and Chris Zaffis (Angourie, NSW – currently residing in Qld) respectively.

“That was really exciting, I wasn’t expecting that,” said Davies.

“It’s been a long break since we’ve had competitions so it feels awesome to get the rashie back on and get a win.

“I’m looking forward to the Gold Coast leg now [the Gold Coast Pro, Oct 31 – Nov 1] until then I’ll just be training.”
