Yamba’s ‘Queen Chris’ retains the throne

Tuesday September 8

Queen Chris under was under attack again with another determined assailant determined to wrest the crown from her – but again to no avail. The contender today was the very accurate Carol Ritale – but it seems that Queen Chris’s reign was not to be over despite Carol’s best efforts. Queen Chris dominated the game from the start and kept her nose in front throughout. Final score was 25-17 and the marker was Julie Coulter. Congratulations again Chris.

But it was a different story when the Princess – Pam Conley took to the green to defend her crown with Vicky Beddow setting her sights on moving into the castle. Vicky kept her nose ahead for most of the game finally racing off to a 25-12 finish. Congratulations to new Princess Vicky. Marker was Bev Shatte. This rink also claimed the runners-up prize for the day.

Twenty social bowlers enjoyed a warm spring morning with the winners for the day: L. Duncan, J. Scadden overcoming M. Durante, J. Button in a very-low scoring game. Consolation for the day went to S. Lindsay, W. Ballantyne d by J. Boyd, M. Stone.

Other rinks were triples games with M. Wall, M. Abbott, R. Marchment (v) d B. Cross, J. Pearson, G. Davis and a very tight game with one shot the winning margin was R. McKibbin (swinger), S. Graham, H. Atkinson d R. McKibbin, J. Campbell, R. Moore.
