Yamba’s oldest cottages

Ed,

I read with much interest the above article in the Independent (11/8/21) and can add a little to Mr McNamara’s story.

No 3 and 4 cottages were owned for quite a number of years by the Amos family from Woodford Island, and used them for holiday homes. No 3 being owned by Mr Tom Flitcroft and his wife Jessie (nee Amos), and No 4 by Mr Harold Lattimer and his wife Elsie (also nee Amos). The Flitcroft’s sold No 3 mid last century for 100 pounds, but Mrs Lattimer continued to reside at No 4 well into the 1960’s. Happy memories of both families.
