Yamba’s Kathy Parker’s hot streak

Our beautiful course is proving to be a haven in these bizarre and difficult times; it is pleasing that a large number of our ladies are taking the opportunity to play on competition days in groups of two and, from all reports, they are enjoying the revised format.

Kathy Parker’s hot streak continued last Wednesday when she came in a clear winner from the field of 38 ladies. Kathy scored an impressive 37 points. Sandra Wallace was runner up with 35 points c/b and Julie Campbell was 2nd runner up with 35 points.

Our usual ladies’ event was not held on Friday due to the Good Friday holiday; however, eight ladies were greeted with clear, sunny skies when they played on Easter Saturday. While it was wet under foot in many places, it certainly didn’t deter Jane Bonner who won with 33 points and Kathy Parker who followed closely with 32 points. Well done ladies!

As golf, with modifications, is a sport allowed under the current restrictions, we are encouraging locals to take advantage of the chance to partake in some exercise on the course while enjoying some welcome fresh air and local wildlife in picturesque surroundings. John Wright, our pro, is also available for 30 minute individual lessons. To book a spot, please call the Pro Shop on 6646 1656.
