An interesting competition all round with 12 teams at the starting line now whittled down to the finals, with some surprise results on the journey. 

Saturday August 17

It was a lovely morning with conditions perfect for a good game of bowls. It’s the semi-finals of the Major/Minors – and the team of Ros Moore and Judy Button proved too strong for Ruthie Fletcher and Cathryn Aitchison and Julie Coulter and Chris Cole snatched victory from Margaret Abbott and Julie Campbell after a very close game.

Sunday August 18

With conditions remained great for the final leg of the competition.

It was now down to the nitty-gritty with team Judy/Ros and team Chris/Julie battling it out in the final.

Chris and Julie maintained a strong lead from the start and despite Ros and Judy’s best efforts it was congratulations to Chris and Julie who held on to their lead to come out victorious and claimed the Major/Minor Pairs for 2019. Thanks must go to all the officials who gave up their weekend time to ensure smooth running of the competition.
