The Tramps played on Sunday for the annual Charlie Cornish Memorial Golf Day, a very good field with us all playing an 18 hole 2 man Ambrose event, carts provided. That helped us oldies, as we had to contend with squalling wind and rain and a double the normal length battle with the course. A shotgun start saw us all finish at generally the same time which pleased our lady friends who were catering a BBQ for us and thanks very much to them for that. The 2016 winners of the Charlie Cornish Memorial Trophy were the team of President Eric Ritchie and Simmo Runners up were Clayton and Geoff Bradbery with the Tramps Trophy going to Mal Cocks and son of Simmo, Rhys. NTP’s were: 3 – Clayton/Geoff; 9 – Bruce/Maz; 10 – Eric/Simmo; 12 – Pete/Tony; 17 – Polly/Pete. No raffle today. Everyone voted this a most enjoyable and successful day. Planning is underway for an overnighter, hopefully in May, details TBA. Next week it’s back to normal with us playing the back nine. Thanks also to Louis and the Pro Shop for their assistance today.
