Yamba Saturday golf proving popular

With 43 players in Wednesday’s Single Stableford competition, we had two grades and Jennifer Moody played a blinder to win Div 1 with 43pts while Fiona Smart was r/up 37pts. Kate Morris from Nudgee has played consistent golf during her Yamba visit, winning Div 2 with 34pts. Jane Madden was the r/up 32pts.

Winners of the NTP (2 balls) included: 3rd – Janine Zietsch; 12th – Margaret Hopkins and 17th (2nd) – Fiona Smart.

Balls were awarded to 31pts c/b (excluding Division prize winners): Kathy Parker, Gail Gore-Brown, Kylie Lowe, Darrie Nightingale, Margaret Solomon, Ann Groom, Lisa Marsh, Janine Zietsch, Ann Schuhmacher and Helen Collins.
In the Nine-Hole competition, Lorraine Stokes had a great round with 18pts to win in a field of six ladies. Well played Lorraine!
Steamy, uncomfortable weather prevailed for the 45 players in last Friday’s Medley round and the lower than usual scores reflected the difficulties presented by these conditions. Div 1 winner, Kathy Parker (36pts), wasn’t deterred and Margaret Solomon (34pts) also played consistently to take out r/up.  Lyn Bartley (30pts) was Div 2’s winner and Joan Berry (28pts) was the next best.

Ann Groom won two balls for the 17th (2nd shot) NTP and Daphne Hinshaw won a $10 SeaFire Restaurant voucher for her shot on the 12th.

Balls were awarded to 29pts c/b (excluding Division prize winners): Ann-Maree Jones (Keparra), Darrie Nightingale, Ann Groom, Fiona Smart, Jennifer Fagan, Helen Collins, Fay Gimenez, Jenny Muir, Jennifer Moody, Daphne Hinshaw and Lyn Rowland.
There were 16 ladies, including two visitors, who played in the Single Stableford last Saturday morning in cooler, breezy conditions. With scores lower than usual, Kylie Lowe won the day with 32pts on a c/b from Vicki Davies and 2nd r/up was Tana Lowe with 31pts.

Gail Scobie won the NTP on the 12th, which is sponsored by SeaFire Restaurant.

The new YGCC golf operation system, ‘MiClub’, opened for perusal last week. You can find all the information you need to log in and explore the new system on the Club’s website. It is currently in use by over 640 clubs throughout Australia.
