Twenty three Yamba Probus members and one visitor, met on Monday 6 for their monthly get together. On arriving, members joined in the usual coffee and banter of what has happened during the month. It is great to hear all the noise this makes with laughter intermingled in the conversations. The usual book swap was displayed and lucky door tickets given.
Once the usual formalities were done we moved on to our guest speaker.
Zoe Eagleton (from Riverland Travel Maclean) gave a most exciting talk on Queensland train tour – ‘Spirit of
Queensland’ as well as Greyhound travel, NZ Grand Pacific tours and great value holidays. We were all getting itchy feet by the time she had finished. Zoe also talked about Norfolk Island – wow there are 32 eateries on that little island… obviously not so little.
After Zoe, our members Jan and Annette showed us some of their pictures from the trip to Norfolk that they had been on recently. Their trip may have been great but their IT skills were not so great.
Forty two members and guests are travelling to Lismore by coach on Sunday June 23 for the show ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’, which should be a hole lot of fun and frivolity.
Scrabble will be held on Thursday 16 from 10am at Raymond Laurie Sports Centre …… come join us.
Call in and see us on the first Monday of each month from 10am at the Yamba Bowling Club in the Riverboat Room; you are always welcome.
