Yamba Lions Club Changeover

Yamba Lions Club held their 49th Changeover on Saturday June 24 with 31 guests attending. 

Amongst the guests were representatives from the following organisations who received donations: Yamba Public School ($4,000 towards playground equipment), Maclean Hospital Auxiliary ($5,000 towards a new bladder machine), Westpac Rescue Helicopter ($5,000), Iluka Yamba Marine Rescue ($5,000) and Dragon Boats ($1,012 towards repairs to their boat).

Lion Brian Grieve from Maclean Lions Club was the Inducting Officer, and the following Lions were sworn in: President – Peter Hudson, Vice President – David Kelvin, Secretary – Barry Gazzard, Treasurer – Jacky Penfold, Ass Treasurer – Maggie Skinner, Directors – Peter and Amanda Bennett and Maggie Skinner.

Lion Joy Lauder, receiving the Highest Awards a Lion can receive – The Melvin Jones Fellow. Melvin Jones started Lions many years ago. Joy’s husband received the same award several years ago.
