Yamba Lions Club held their Change-over on June 11 with Lion Grahame McEwan carrying out the Inductions.
The Club has been busy as usual doing Bingo at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba every Monday and for the first time, made pancakes at Big 4 Holiday Park at Palmers Island on two Wednesdays over the school holidays.
Some members will be doing a promotional drive at the Yamba Markets on July 24 and holding a social 10-pin bowling night at the Bowlo on July 28.
We have been asked to cook a BBQ at Yamba Public School Athletic Carnival on July 29 and again at Palmers Island School Family Day on September 3, where we will be cooking a BBQ and also, having our Merry-Go-Round.
An art exhibition will be held at the Old Kirk for two weeks from September 23 to October 7, so please come along and support the Club.
Again, pancakes will be cooked at the Blue Dolphin during the next school holidays on the Thursdays.
An arts & craft fair will be held at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba from November 5 & 6, so anyone wishing to have a stall, keep a watch for entry dates.
The Club would love to gain some new members, so if anyone is at all interested in volunteering for our local community, come along to a meeting to check it out.
As from August 25, meetings will only be held monthly at the Bowlo 7 for 7.30pm. Also, if anyone is happy to be “Just a Friend of Lions”, you would be very welcome, as we do need extra hands for certain projects from time to time.
