Yamba Lions Club activities slowly recommence

Yamba Lions Club celebrated the up-coming festive season with 24 members attending at the Sanctus Brewery on December 10 for lunch.

It was a little sad, as one of our bests Lions, Peter Ross was given a send-off. He was presented with an album by Stella Jackson, depicting his time spent in our Club since transferring from Armidale. He was a very active member and took part in all projects in which the Club was involved. He will be sadly missed. Good luck Peter in your new venture in Batemans Bay.

Our Club has not taken part in the Sunday Markets during the shut-down, but will be operating again on January 24, with COVID safe rules in place.

Bingo at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba has been going well with numbers up, and members have now begun to sell raffle tickets at the Yamba Golf Club every Thursday night from 5pm.

Pancakes at the Blue Dolphin will also be conducted on Thursday 31 December, then 7, 14 & 21 January.

It has been very hard to raise money for the community since March, but we are beginning to see some funds coming in from Bingo to date.

The benefits of Lions Club memberships are numerous and include:

  1. Helping those in need;
  2. Making a difference in your community;
  3. Having an impact on those in need worldwide;
  4. Developing leadership skills;
  5. Utilizing planning and organisation skills;
  6. Working hands-on to meet community needs;
  7. Meeting new people;
  8. Opportunities to network;
  9. Opportunities to travel.

If anyone in the community has been thinking that they may join the Lions Club, please phone our secretary Peter on 0417 546 097 for further information.

Our Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their support and wish each and every one a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
