Yamba Lady Golfers’

Fifty one ladies played in the Irish Stableford at Yamba last Wednesday and the winning team consisted of Moira Morrow, Lee Daley, Penny Cope and Margaret Julian with 88c/b from Lina Holden, Wendy O’Brien, Liz Dwyer and Jennifer Dewar. NTPs were won by Jenny Macqueen – Yamba Medical Centre 3, Lexie Walker – Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3/2, Suzanne Scott – Yamba Pro Shop 9, Deirdre Gough – Yamba Fair Butchery 10, Jean Whitby – The Shoe Boutique 12, Lina Holden – Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17 and Jennifer Dewar – the Block 17/2. The 9 hole Stableford event contested by 8 players was won by Val Bofinger 19 and Honey Tatton won the pin on 12. Draw of the cards saw Jenny Macqueen win the Civic Video voucher, Kay Caller – Priceline Pharmacy, Glenda Smith – the hot chook at The Friendly Grocer, Penny Cope – Yamba Florist and Ann Schuhmacher – Anne’s Pearls. The raffle, which raised $113, was won by Margery Allison, with 2nd and 3rd prizes of Easter eggs going to Carolyn Chester and Glenys Hall. Also drawn was the 100 club which was won by Kay Caller, while 2nd prize went to Gillian Holst. There was no ladies’ competition on Good Friday and Saturday’s field of 12 included Peg James visiting from Grafton. Winning the day with clever putting, was Gillian Holst, on a countback from Lyn Rowland. The pin on 12 went to Kathy Parker. Pauline McKinnon
