In Friday’s Stroke and final Championship Round, the last of the field of 48 ladies played in torrential rain which created very-challenging conditions.

Div 1 winner was again, Helen Collins (69) ahead of Janelle Carpenter on 71. The gross winner was Darrie Nightingale (88 c/b) and Janelle Carpenter took 27 to win the putting.

In Div 2, Moira Morrow was a convincing winner with 72. Julie Campbell scored 100 to win the gross and r/up (72 c/b). Carrie Aitken won the Putting (30 c/b).

It was great to see Margery Allison take out Div 3 winner with 75, just edging out the r/up, Penny Cope (76). Meg Kulmar won putting with a score of 30.

The NTP sponsored by Flots and Jets, Valley Finance, Peter Campbell Physio, Kitchen To Table, Melt Massage & Beauty, Yamba Ladies and Yamba Pharmacy were won by Jill L. Brown (x 2), Jane Anderson, Darrie Nightingale (x 2), Sandra Wallace and Noni Rixon.

The effects of Friday’s drenching rain were still evident on the course on Saturday and, as a result, no ladies’ competition was held.

This week, we have two single Stableford rounds ahead of the upcoming three-round Mike Macqueen Memorial Shootout which begins next Wednesday. Please enter your names online.

Happy golfing.
