Yamba ladies golf – Di’s our girl

All 2021 Monthly Medal winners were given the opportunity to vie for the Medal of Medals last Wednesday, with this year’s winner being named as Di Sigle. Congratulations Di.

Results

In Div 1, the winner was Di Sigle (70) and r/up was Helen Collins (73 c/b).

The gross winner was Darrie Nightingale (87). The best putter in Div 1 and winner of the Cafe Marina voucher for ‘Overall Best Putting’ was Sandra Wallace (29 putts).  

Div 2 was a closer affair with Gillian Holst (70) winning ahead of Lynne Donsworth (71).

The gross winner was Jo King (98) and Gail Scobie had 30 putts (c/b) to win the putting prize.

Terri Collingburn (71 c/b) edged out Noni Rixon (71 c/b) to win Div 3. Birthday girl, Toni Elliott was the gross winner (105) and Jane Anderson was the best putter in Div 3 (31 putts).

Congratulations to our NTP winners: Yamba Medical Centre (3rd) – Alison Caller; Yamba Florist, Debbie May (3rd) 2nd – Julie Vernol; Leonie May Millinery (9th) 2nd – Gail Scobie; Yamba Fair Butchery (10th) – Maiva Burnham; The Shoe Boutique (12th) – Janine Zietsch; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean (17th) – Di Sigle and The Wobbly Chook (17th) 2nd – Kathy Lollback. Balls were awarded to 74 c/b.
Our nine-hole competition had nine players for their single Stableford format on the back 9. Congratulations to Stephany Moreton who came in with an excellent score of 20pts c/b to win. The 12th NTP was won by Narelle Madden.

Thursday night’s storms and a less than favourable Friday weather forecast deterred most of the field; however, those who did managed the very slight drizzle that persisted throughout the morning.

With only 24 players, there was one division. Darrie Nightingale won with 37pts, beating Janine Zietsch who came in with 36pts.

Congratulations to our NTP winners: Flots and Jets 3rd – Lyn Saggers; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd) – Joan Berry; Peter Campbell Physio 9th (2nd) – Mary Hogan; Kitchen to Table 10th – Denise Ginn; Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Sue Skelton; Nicholson’s Fine Foods 17th – NA and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd) – Lynne Eke. Balls went to 32pts c/b.
Saturday morning’s competition had 18 ladies and the scores reflected the near perfect conditions. Margaret Fishburn won with an impressive 40pts, and Julie Grant was the next best (39pts). Jane Bonner won the NTP.

Good luck to our players in this week’s Multiplier event and to those players heading off for the Byron Bay Tournament.
