Yamba ladies hosted the 2022 Women’s Golf Northern Rivers (WGNR) Three Day Tournament held from Monday to Wednesday last week, so our usual Wednesday competition did not go ahead.

Over the past week, Yamba has been blessed with fantastic weather and last Friday’s conditions were perfect for the first round of the 2022 Ladies Championships.

With 55 ladies involved, there were three grades.

In Div 1 – Janelle Carpenter had the best nett score of 72. Janelle had r/up, Janette Blair, hot on her heels with her score of 73.

Fiona Smart was the gross winner (89) and Jennifer Fagan won Div 1 putting.

In Div 2 – Glen Czarnota starred with her nett score of 73 and winning gross score of 100. Julie Campbell was the r/up (77) and Di Sigle was Div 2’s best putter.

Sue Wilson has played great golf lately and her fine form continued on Friday by winning Div 3 with her score of 72. Sue was also the gross winner (105), and Nadene Carroll was r/up (73). Lesley Love won Div 3 putting.

NTP winners were: Flots and Jets 3rd – Robyn Brockwell; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd) – Noni Rixon; Peter Campbell Physio 9th (2nd) – Janelle Carpenter; Kitchen to Table 10th – Glen Czarnota; Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Jacky Penfold; Nicholson’s Fine Foods 17th – Janelle Carpenter and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd) – Sue Wilson. Balls – to 78. Congratulations ladies.

With three more rounds to go, there is plenty of time for players to move up the leader board. Good luck to everyone for the next two rounds to be played this week. Next Wednesday will be the final round in the competition.

No Saturday competition was held last weekend due to the Yamba Pro Am event.
