Yamba ladies back enjoying monthly Stroke events

We had 51 ladies who played in conditions that looked a little ominous last Wednesday but, in the end, we had a round clear of rain and wind.

This was our much-anticipated return to our monthly medal Stroke format and some pleasing scores were lodged.

Congratulations to our monthly medal winners: Div 1 – Jennifer Fagan; Div 2 – Carrie Aitken and Div 3 – Lesley Love.

Our Division 1 daily winner and gross winner was Jennifer Fagan with Stroke scores of 72 and 87, respectively. The r/up was Gail Gore-Brown (75) and the putting was taken out by Sandra Wallace who came in with 30 putts.

In Div 2, the winner was Carrie Aitken (75 c/b). Carrie also took out the putting honours with 31 putts.

The gross winner was Jane Bonner (100) and r/up was Julie Campbell (75).

Lesley Love was the winner in Div 3 with 73 c/b. Lesley also won the putting with 32 putts c/b. Our gross winner in Div 3 was Gail Scobie with a score of 107 and r/up was Noni Rixon (73). Congratulations ladies.

What a chilly start to the day last Friday! It was certainly a shock for the 56 ladies who arrived to, such cool conditions, especially for those of us who teed off early in the day. It did not seem to deter our players from lodging some decent scores. Balls were awarded to 32pts c/b. Congratulations to the following winners, especially Jill L. Brown for her great score of 40pts.

In Div 1, the winner was Gail Gore-Brown (34pts c/b) and r/up was Helen Collins (34pts). Jill L. Brown (40pts) easily won Div 2 with Sue Wilson (37pts) taking out r/up. In Div 3, Maiva Burnham took the honours with a score of 35pts with Irene Williams following closely on 33pts. Well done ladies!

Ten ladies hit off early last Saturday morning in chilly, overcast conditions. Though our jumpers stayed on for the duration, it was fine, there no mozzies and the course looked great. Kathy Parker won with 35 points and Julie Campbell followed with 32 points. Well done everyone.

This Wednesday’s competition will be a Single Stableford round with Friday being the first round of the Single Par 4/6 event.

Have a great week and enjoy your golf.
