Yamba Ladies Annual Golf Tournament

  Three days of golf, friendship, entertainment and fabulous fun was had by almost 200 ladies last week at the annual tournament and this couldn’t have happened without the help of all our very generous sponsors and volunteers, our major sponsor being Westlawn Finance, so a huge thank you to all these marvellous people. The course was in magnificent condition and we were proud to show it off to the numerous visitors participating. The winners in the 36 hole Gross were: Grade 1 – Darrie Nightingale; Grade 2 – Sandra Hansson (Gainsborough Greens); Grade 3 – Lina Holden; Grade 4 – Ann Foster (Emerald Lakes) and Stableford Grade 5 – Glenda Smith. The 36 Hole Nett winners were: Grade 1 – Narelle Norris (Sanctuary Cove); Grade 2 – Glen Czarnota; Grade 3 – Lyn Donsworth; Grade 4 – Glynis Meredith and Stableford Grade 5 2nd Phyllis Telfer. The Foursomes winners played on the first day were: Grade 1 – Suzanne Scott /Helen Collins; Grade 2 Carole McFeat (Burleigh)/Bibby Davies (Bribie Island). There were 29 ladies who were happy to compete again on Friday which was a Single Stableford and this was won by Carolyn Chester 38 with r/up being Lyn White 37. NTPs went to Kim Lipscombe – Tom’s Chinese Restaurant, Lorraine Luckie – Retireinvest, Sandra Wallace – Peter Campbell Physiotherapy, Lyn White – Kitchen to Table, Suzanne Scott – Yamba’s Fisho, Lyn White – Bean Scene and Jenny Dewar – Yamba Pharmacy. Saturday’s sunny weather attracted 6 ladies including Linda Warne visiting from Maryborough. The winner was Jeannie Doolan with 38pts and r/up was Carolyn Chester with 33. Sandra Dorman
