With over forty categories and in excess of three hundred finalists, winners were announced at the Brides Choice Awards for Excellence, annual awards gala on Wednesday night of last week at Coffs Harbour’s CEX Club. These awards are voted on by actual bridal couples from the last 12 months in the Mid North Coast region, which encompasses Port Macquarie, all the way up to Yamba.
Yamba Golf & Country Club’s General Manager Luke Stephenson said that winning the category of Best Golf Club Wedding Reception Venue for the second consecutive year, was great recognition for all their hard work.
“Winning the overall Best of the Best Award (the most number of votes across all categories) over such quality opposition like last year’s winner the 4.5 star Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour, definitely makes us extremely proud,” Mr Stephenson said.
“Weddings are tough and there is significant pressure to create that special day that the bride has always dreamed of.
“Winning the Brides Choice Award is so rewarding, as the voting is done by the brides themselves. Voting is only open to brides who have married in the past 12 months.
“Our winning team lead by Jo Court and assisted by Louise Sundval commence planning with the couple sometimes 18 months in advance of the wedding. Meticulous planning and communication is required to make weddings successful, with all departments involved.
“Our head chef Greg Syle and his team deliver the best food, our bar and service staff provide attentive and efficient service and our greens team keep our wedding arbour ceremony space and golf course surrounds perfectly presented for those very important wedding photos. Our members also make valuable contributions in assisting with set ups and photo shoots.
“The aim is to make sure that we deliver a night that our bridal couples, their family and friends, will all remember forever.
“Yamba’s wedding suppliers work together often and have forged strong relationships over the years. We are lucky to regularly work with other professionals such as Monique Turner from Yamba Weddings and Events and Marriage Celebrant, Christine Preston, both of whom were in attendance at the Gala Night and also picked up awards. Monique won the category of Wedding Decorator and Christine received a top five finish in the largest of all the categories, Marriage Celebrants.
“I would like to thank all our staff for their continuous hard work, our members for their support and assistance, and most importantly our bridal couples for putting their trust in us to create and deliver one of the most important days of their life. Thank you for voting for us,” he said.
