Yamba Evening VIEW Club

Hello ladies, get yourselves into a Spanish Fiesta mood! Our 26th Birthday is coming up. Dress up, red and yellow are the colours of Spain, there will be a prize for best dressed, a flower in your hair will put you in the party mood.

We will be having a piñata filled with sweets, so practice your piñata breaking techniques and be first to open the bounty within.

There will be Sangria and tapas inspired nibbles to start, a delicious dinner, and of course the birthday cake to follow, sounds wonderful!

Mid month we held a fundraising soup lunch at our Presidents home, and it was enjoyed by all. It was a cool day but the soup and friendship shared warmed us, to the soup makers and all who attended and helped, and Karen for providing her home, thank you.

No guest speaker this month as we are celebrating.

Our club welcomed four new members last month, Bethany Dorsett, Thelma Winitana, Kath Gunning, and Jen Homewood. Congratulations ladies on receiving your membership badges.

Our October guest speaker will be Hayley Talbot, what a story she has to share with us, she hiked and kayaked over 400km from the Clarence River to the Pacific Ocean surviving on the land; save the date – October 14 meeting.

We will meet on Monday September 2 at our usual venue, Yamba Shores Tavern, 6pm for a 7pm start with acceptances or apologies to Marlene, acting catering liaison, email auntymarl@rocketmail.com or 0400 528 846 no later than Wednesday August 28.

The Tavern runs a courtesy bus – phone 6646 1888 to book a seat.

Friends and ladies new to the area will be made most welcome, come along and join in the fun, just call Marlene to book in.

Apart from having a fun night out, we also do an important job…raise funds to help support underprivileged children gain an education.

Our club have seven students in The Smith Family ‘Learning For Life’ program. VIEW Clubs Australia and The Smith Family together, make a difference in the outcomes for these students.

Dazzle us in your Spanish colours, and remember…FIESTA then SIESTA!
