Yamba Day VIEW enthralled by guest speaker

Yamba Day VIEW Club were extremely lucky to have as our guest speaker at our June meeting, Jon Hallam, Deputy Chief from Fire NSW Yamba Brigade, who was not only very informative, but a great entertainer, having the ladies in stitches throughout his presentation.

At this time of year with so many house fires occurring, his suggestions to us all was that we should be diligent on checking our fire alarms and suggested that everyone should have photo electric fire alarms with a 10-year lithium battery and a fire blanket in the kitchen.

His presentation was appreciated by all ladies in attendance. Thank you, Jon.

Our soup and slice day held June 27 at Dianne’s home was enjoyed by all who attended.  Thank you, Dianne.

The July meeting will be our Christmas in July, so dress up in Christmas gear and we will have an interesting speaker, Kerry Huxham, to speak to us on “Days for Girls”.

Our July outing will be held at Flinders’ Rose Cafe on July 25 commencing at 10am. Please let Dianne W. know if you will be attending so that a booking can be made.

Guest speaker for October will be Kathy Brophy, a McGrath Breast Cancer Nurse.

If there are any new residents now living in Yamba and may be interested in working for our ‘Learning for Life’ children whom we support, please phone Dianne on 0418 602 832 for more information.
