‘Help is never far away’, that’s the Angel Flight message, conveyed to our members at the April meeting of Yamba Day VIEW Club.
Our guest speaker, Ian Ellis, is a pilot who volunteers his plane and flying expertise to help people in need and overcome distance travelled to attend medical appointments, tests, chemotherapy and much more. Patients of all ages must have a medical reference, also be mobile and able to climb onboard a plane, a carer can accompany the patient on the flight.
Angel Flight pilots do not carry aero-medical staff or medical equipment so does not act as an alternative to the Flying Doctor or Air Ambulance in that capacity. What a wonderful charity.
Speaking of flying, a number of our members are flying off to different parts of the world for their holidays….ENJOY.
Our April outing will be lunch at the Pacific Hotel on Monday April 29 at 12pm.
Correction on VIEW insurance, members over 95, plus work carried out at home for a VIEW function are excluded on the policy (Chub insurance). You are still OK Jan?
Two lucky ladies won lovely Easter baskets kindly donated by Des, many thanks. Drats I tried hard to win those (not that I need the extra chocolate).
Thoughts go out to members who are not well.
VIEW Club offers learning, companionship; friendship and a drive to be able to help Australian children less fortunate in our society try to achieve a brighter future.
