Our guest speaker from Cranes proved very informative for those members who may be seeking assistance in various ways to help stay in their homes. Topics included the provision of service, care and social connections. Call, My Aged Care on 1800 200 422, for any inquiries or entitlements you may be eligible for. A home care package will enable you to stay in your own home for as long as possible with many people now choosing this option.
A motion was passed to pay our five ‘Learning For Life’ fees for the children we sponsor, with thanks going to those who supported the International Women’s Day function. As members can see these proceeds were quickly put into action; thank you.
To those members who put in an enormous amount of work on and before the day, once again well done, your hearts are in the right place. We are reminded this event is carried out solely by volunteers; there are some who go home out on their feet to help these children try to have a brighter future.
Our guest speaker for April at this stage will be Ian Ellis, a pilot from Angel Flight. Visitors on the day are most welcome to attend at Yamba Bowling Club on Monday April 15commencing at 10am. Please phone Lyn on 6646 3164 by Friday prior if you are a visitor. The usual arrangements apply to members, as to lunch numbers.
There are presently many members who are not well; our best wishes are extended to you at this time.
On a happy note, our club was introduced to our National president Jan as the FUN Club. We will take that comment happily on board!
Joy’s booklet comment for this month – ‘kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world, no matter what you look like’…very appropriate.
