Yamba Bowlo CEO a hit with Yamba Probus

With regrets the November Probus monthly meeting had to be put back to the 2nd Monday of the month, due to a number of unfortunate site availability issues.

This was with some regrets as it cancelled the annual pre–Melbourne Cup day program of cup sweeps and the best dress up hat parade etc for both male and female members with prizes awarded on the day.

Following this it was noted that some Probus members handled the cancellation and disappointment with great diplomacy.

The November Monday luncheon outing was voted for and held at Yamba bowing clubs – Norfolk Bistro this was agreed on as a show of thanks and appreciation by way of both reflecting and recognising the fact that the very first inaugural meeting of the Yamba Probus in 1988 some 36 years ago, and all the  meetings to a date have been held at, and supported by the Yamba Bowling Club.

Still on the Yamba Bowling Club theme, the monthly guest speaker was the clubs new CEO Greg Targget, Greg’s presentation included some background of his varying and extensive experiences in hotel and club land management.

Greg spoke most positively about the current updating and large maintenance program that the club is presently undertaking for the future. It looks like the clubs’ board have got the No 1 man for the job!

He also reassured Probus members of his availability, that like the previous CEO Phillip (Bo) Boughton he would be happy to return and keep all up to date with the bowling club agenda and progress into the future.

Following Gregs well received presentation Annetta Callaghan our social convener /club guest speaker presented Greg with our Probus appreciation pen that doubt will get lots of work.

Yes, it is near that Ho Ho time of the year and Annette our social convener has been out and about looking for a Christmas luncheon venue, well really what’s the go with some of the local venues, they just do not return phone calls or inquiries, which is very disappointing and shows poor business ethics.

After some run arounds all have agreed that the Harwood Hotel (Hilton) on Monday December 9 will be our venue for this year’s Christmas celebration, and the reported feedback is that Harwood Hotel will be most happy to see us and donate a few extra Santa prizes on the day.

Keep smiling & Happy and safe Christmas to all.
