Wings and Wheels donations soar

The Grafton Aero Club’s annual Wings and Wheels attraction on June 20 raised more than $2400 for the Grafton Base Hospital Oncology Unit.

Event organiser Kevin Wilson informed the Clarence Valley Independent of the total amount raised last week, following our publication deadline.

$1339.75 was raised largely from generous community donations, plus proceeds of raffles and other donations from the Grafton Gliding Club and Clements Flying School totalling $1100.

Mr Wilson is extremely appreciative to everyone who attended the Wings and Wheels event and made a donation.

He also gratefully acknowledged the owners of several vintage cars, engines and aircrafts who travelled to the Clarence Valley to participate in the event and display their pride and joy to the admiring public.

“They helped to make the event possible,” he said graciously.

Mr Wilson also confirmed the money raised will be donated to the Grafton Base Hospital Oncology Unit later this year, following other community events and the donation of further funds.
