What is ‘Harvo’s Shootout?  Read on

The Grafton Golf Club programme continues to be disrupted by continuing rain with the course remaining too wet for play. If you believe the weather forecast for the immediate future, our prospect for any play soon remains pessimistic at best.

To determine the current status of the course and the likelihood of any in May, refer to the Club face book page or website (www.graftongolf.com.au) for that information

However, the Club is organising a couple of initiatives to encourage golfers back to the Club to enjoy the normal facilities on offer. One of these initiatives being a team campaign known as ‘Harvo’s Shootout’.  This involves a 2-player team to take on a target challenge on the first hole.

This event is scheduled for the coming Saturday May 28 with play to commence at 12pm and it is anticipated will be completed at 3pm approx. Pairs will compete over a selected number of rounds, attempting to score as many points as possible for their allocated shots.

Scoring for the various results include 800pts for a hole out, 500pts for the inner target, the outer target will attract 300pts. Should you finish on the green you will achieve 100pts. Miss the green completely and you get zero points.

Following the initial qualifying rounds, the top eight pairs will proceed to the final. A $10 entry fee per player will apply, with $5 being allocated to the prize pool and will include a drink voucher. Lunch will be available between 12-3pm.

To enter just call Mark Harvison in the Pro Shop or Jason Casserly (0409 319 701) and be aware that there are limited spots available. To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to get those names in sooner rather than later. Club members and visitors are all welcome.

In the meantime, the practice putting greens are available for use as well as the practice nets for all club members to use. The practice tees and fairways are all closed.

The Club House is open daily from 10 am as well as the pro shop from 6 am through to 11am, 7 days.
