What an amazing fund raising night

Ed,

Held at Maclean Showgrounds last Friday night.

More than $10,000 was raised as attendees pulled out their credit cards and bought stunning local artwork and other amazing items. And all donated. Thank you to you all.

Lisa from Lisa and Co. (Maclean) decided she wanted to help local farmers who had, and still are seriously affected by the recent floods. And the money raised was for an amazing group called Feed4Friends. A group of young people helping to rescue and feed flood affected animals. Look them up.

So Lisa decided on an amazing fund raising night. And with friends and locals a great night was had by all.

The new hall looked amazing- so colourful. Guests were met with a smile and champagne. The hall buzzed with positive vibes. Art work adorned the walls. A delightful meal was served on beautifully presented tables.

The night opened with a presentation by Ross Farlow on his ideas to help Maclean be protected from future flooding. An idea we as residents need to seriously consider as I for one never want to see Maclean township go under.

Feed4Friends talked about how they started and how they saved lives both human and animals. And they are still raising funds and buying food for more than 6000 animals.

Amazing young people doing amazing things. What a credit you all are to the community. And all those lucky animals.

Then the auction began and funds raised.

The night ended with a fashion parade of lovely clothes stocked by Lisa, and10% of these if sold this week will go to the Feed4Friends.

This was a great positive event, lots of discussions, laughter and money raised for a worthy cause.

Thank you to all who were involved in what ever way as it has raised the bar for future fund raising in Maclean.

Barbara Linley,

Clarence Valley Citizen of the Year (2022)
