What a year – the Foundation celebrates and gives thanks

The very vibrant year was celebrated on Wednesday December 18 at the Grafton Regional Gallery by The Gallery Foundation.  The directors and members of the Foundation gathered with their volunteers, sponsors and donors to celebrate a great year and to thank everyone for their support.

Four events were successfully held last year as part of the rich culture and busy community of the Clarence Valley. The major events promoted the artists, art, food growers and producers, musicians and chefs of the Clarence Valley.

Currently the Foundation is busy raising the $100,000 it committed as the community contribution of the $7.6m Region Cultural Fund granted by the NSW Government. The Foundation funded and supported the grant application that secured the $7.6m for the refurbishment and extension of the Grafton Regional Gallery. The first sod of this amazing project took place on Friday December 20.

Over the past 14 years, the Gallery Foundation has raised over $450,000 and has directly or indirectly contributed over $110,000 to the Gallery’s collection and infrastructure. The Foundation will continue to raise funds through a creative campaign of harnessing endowments, bequests, gifts, sponsorships, grants and fundraising events to ensure the future development of our Regional Gallery and the engagement of our community in the celebrating the foods and arts of the Clarence Valley.
