Westlawn Golf – Paul McFarlane tops Sunday results

30 March 2020

Even with all the restrictions put in place with the COVID19 we still had 27 players turn up on Sunday to play a single Stableford event on the front nine and with players getting used to the course there are some good scores coming along.

The best score of the day was a very good 25 points by Paul McFarlane, say goodbye to your 30 handicap Paul, the next best was Geoff McInerney with 23pts and Bob McFarlane with 21pts on a countback from Peter Chessell. There were three players, Joe Armstrong, Max Bonnor and Damian Blair all with 19pts. I am sure that the handicapper will have a very long look at this weeks results

Paul was very disappointed with the club closure and no BBQ or get together and Sunday because he could not tell everyone about his 3 a 5 on the 4th hole, Paul hit a good drive down the right hand side of the fairway to open up the green nicely but his 2nd shot was not as good as he wanted and ended up about 60 meters short of the green, not one to dwell on a bad shot Paul lined up for his 3rd, it was a nice pitch shot that landed on the green and rolled up towards the hole and all of a sudden it could not be seen any more, nice 3 a 5 Paul.

Next week will be a single Stableford event on the back nine if the course is still open. Remember the social distancing rules and only one person per cart and keep at least 1.5 meters between players at all times. PLEASE KEEP SAFE.
