What more could you want on a Sunday morning, great weather, course in great condition and great friendship, all be it at a distance. Once again 40 plus took to the fairways for a GDSC and Westlawn Golf Club sponsored Stroke event on the back nine and the good scores keep rolling in.
The best overall score of the day went to Division 2 winner Dave Lorenzo with a very good 27 ½ nett a clear three shots clear of Division 1 winner David Tasker with 30 ½ nett closely followed by Damien Blair and Dally Clark with 31 ½ nett and Paul McFarlane and Joe Armstrong with 32 ½ nett. The biggest surprise of the day was Di Alderman collected the Bradman trophy after being on the podium last week, and they say a week is a long time in politics. The best gross score of the day went to Jason Casserly with a fine 39 off the stick.
I think the handicapper might have another busy week.
Our best wishes go out to our captain John Blanch who could not play on Sunday due to a toothache, we all hope you get well soon and be back on the fairways sooner rather than later.
Next Sunday, Mother’s Day, we will be playing a single Stableford event on the front nine. Please note that the tee off times will be pushed back to a 7.10am start and last tee off of 9am.
Just on a side note, if anyone in the club has mastered the Grafton Golf Club greens could you please let me in on your secret, there could be a beer in it for you.
