This year’s change of day for the running of the Westlawn Black and Gold Race Day was a huge success.

Clarence River Jockey Club (CRJC) Executive Officer Michael Beattie said that Westlawn Race Day which has traditionally been held on a Thursday was moved to Sunday this year.

“The crowd numbers (this year) were up by 75 percent on last year, so it was a good move,” Mr Beattie said.
