With our AGM taking place last Wednesday morning, our 2022 Committee members were presented with their badges and fond farewells and thanks were given to Lynne White, Judy Palich, Ann Groom and Prue Leggoe for their work over the past year/s. For some, it has been many years of service. Congratulations are extended to the 2022 Committee: President – Leigh Robertson; Vice President – Jenny Dewar; Captain – Penny Cope; Secretary – Margery Allison; Treasurer – Jo Simmons; Committee – Kathy Lollback, Jo Foley and Rae Blood. Many thanks are extended to our new members, Jo Simmons and Jo Foley, for putting up their hands to assist on committee.
Thankfully, last week’s dire weather forecasts came to nothing and the 27 pairs who participated in Friday’s American Foursomes had a great morning for golf. Jo Simmons and Jeannie Doolan (72.5) posted the best score to win, ahead of Fiona Smart and Sue Wilson (73.37). Following closely were the 2nd runners up, Lyn Bartley and Jenny Dewar, who scored 73.87.
Our NTP winners: Flots & Jets 3rd – Helen Collins/Phyllis Telfer and Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Robyn Brockwell/Margery Allison. Balls went to 78.
Fine and windy conditions greeted the 14 ladies who played single Stableford last Saturday morning. Despite the cored greens, Kylie Lowe and Jenny Moody played some great golf, scoring 39 points, with Kylie winning on a countback. Jeannie Doolan won the NTP.
Information has been emailed to all members regarding arrangements and payment details for Closing/Presentation Day which will be held on Wednesday, December 1. It is imperative that registrations are made by either emailing ladies@yambagolf.com or by completing the sheet located in the golfers’ lounge. Late entries will be accepted on the day.
Ticket sales for our beautiful raffle kindly donated by our nine-hole golfers and a fabulous hamper generously donated by Nicholson’s Fine Foods will be on sale over the next couple of weeks. Both the raffle and hamper will be drawn on Closing Day. Come dressed for the occasion, take advantage of the drinks cart which will be in operation during our 11-hole par 3 format and enjoy a fabulous lunch with great company on what will be a fun day to end a memorable year of golf.
