Wash out means you haven’t missed anything yet

It’s been an early start of the season for Maclean FC Premier League football teams, but with the weekend’s games postponed until this weekend, it means there is still time to sample what the club has to offer.

The Bobcats are looking for new recruits, so anyone thinking of playing in the highest league available, are encouraged to come and have a training run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm at Wherrett Park, Maclean. With the first trial game being pushed back to Sunday 13 against Lismore Thistles and the pre-season Anzac Cup starting on February 26 a fortnight later, the Bobcats are feverishly recruiting for the new season. With a former A-League player potentially moving to Gulmarrad and hopefully joining the club, it is a great opportunity for young players to develop not only under the quality coaching provided but also mixing with players of the highest standard.

Captain Jarrad Doyle said “We have provided great pathways in the past for Clarence Valley players like Daniel Fung, Kevin Crofton and Fraser Robinson to play in professional leagues both here and in England, with our most recent graduate, Keanu Straader, moving onto to bigger things right now. Hopefully, there are few more players willing to join them in the near future”.
