Grafton Base Hospital has farewelled two of its long serving staff members at an afternoon tea in their honour, last Thursday afternoon.
Sheryl Rogan has been the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of Surgical Services since 1992, and is now taking a well-earned break from full time work.
Sheryl started her 42 year career, training in nursing at GBH in January 1977. Sheryl has worked in various departments including surgical, medical, aged care, and children’s ward. Sheryl also trained as a midwife, working in Brisbane and Lismore before returning to work in theatres at Grafton Base Hospital in the late 1980s.
Amy Lowe has been the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of the GBH Emergency Department since 1989, also assuming responsibility for the Maclean ED in 2016 as well.
Amy trained at GBH from 1971-1974 and later returned to GBH in 1985, where she has had numerous roles over the years.
We wish both of these ladies all the best for their retirement and thank them for their years of service to the community.
