The Grafton Branch of The United Hospital Auxiliary held their first meeting for 2016 on Monday January 26. President Alba opened the meeting and the motto recited. Present were 25 members with 7 apologies. Due to unforseen circumstances both our secretary and our treasurer have resigned their positions, stepping into their shoes are Debra Prendergast (secretary) and Gwen McLennan (treasurer) both elected unopposed. A big thank you goes to both members from the committee and members. President of the Grafton Midday Rotary Bill Paterson along with his treasurer Robert Blanchard were welcomed to our meeting for the pleasant task of presenting a cheque to the U.H.A. to the value of $1,200. The cheque was accepted by U.H.A. president Alba Linklater and a round of applause showed our appreciation for their generous donation. Thank you Grafton Midday Rotary. Crazy Whist will next be held on Monday February 15 commencing at 1pm and held in the Education Centre at the rear of the hospital. Following Whisk afternoon tea is provided, all welcome. The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday February 22 commencing at 1pm in the Education Centre at the rear of the hospital. Afternoon tea is provided and new members are welcome to come along.
