Aside from being the final day for our 2021 championships, last Wednesday August 4 was the 7th Monthly Medal and 3rd Gwlad Murray event for its 62 players.
In Div 1, the winner, gross winner and best putter was Val Pate (73, 92 and 29 putts). The r/up was Julie Grant who scored 74. Denise Ginn starred in Div 2 as winner, gross winner and best putter with scores of 74, 103 c/b and 26 putts. Julie Campbell was the r/up with 75. The Div 3 winner and gross winner was Jen O’Neill (72 and 105) ahead of Ann Schuhmacher (77).
Visitor from Lonsdale GC, Reina Sarah won the putting (32 putts). Denise Ginn won a $20 voucher from the Cafe Marina for winning best overall putting. Balls went to 78 c/b.
Our monthly medal winners were: A Grade – Val Pate; B Grade – Denise Ginn and C Grade – Jen O’Neill.
Our NTP’s were won by: Yamba Medical Centre 3rd – Gail Gore-Brown; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Gail Scobie; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Lynne White; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Lee Daley; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Maiva Burnham; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Leigh Robertson and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Ann Schuhmacher.
With 14 players, Sonya McLennan was the winner of the nine-hole competition with a fabulous 22pts. Val Bofinger continues to play well, winning r/up (16pts) and the NTP 3rd.
Friday’s 3rd 4/6 par event had one of the biggest fields to date this year with 64 participants.
Div 1 had the best results by far with exceptional play by the winner, Margaret Solomon (+7), and r/up, Jennifer Fagan (+4). In Div 2, the winner was Jo King (0 c/b) who edged out Mary Hogan (0). The winner of Div 3 was Kathy Lollback (+2) and the r/up was Jacky Penfold (+1 c/b).
Balls went to 0 c/b.

Eleven ladies enjoyed perfect conditions for the Stableford competition last Saturday morning. Congratulations to Jenny Moody who played a magnificent game (43pts). Gwynne Thomas was r/up (33pts) and Jill Brown won the NTP.
