To all we say thank you

Dear Ed,

The family of the late Winifred “Win “Jefferies would like to express our thanks and gratitude for all the expressions of sympathy, lovely messages, phone calls and all the love and support shown to us during this difficult time.

Special mention must go to Chaplain David Seymour, Dr Jones, Grafton Base Hospital doctors and nurses also the nurses that cared for Win in her final days, you are absolute angels. The family are very grateful for everything you did for Win, we really do appreciate it.

We would also like to thank the staff and Dougherty Villa community for the amazing love and support shown to Win during her time there, you were all very important to her and she was so blessed to have you all in her life.

We would like to make special mention of Kevin Hogan, Lynne Mowbray and Ros Houlahan and anyone else involved in arranging a special surprise for Win’s 108th birthday. She idolized Roger Federer, these lovely people I have mentioned managed to get an Australian Open Cap signed by Roger Federer and it was presented to Win on the Wednesday 9th September, it brought a huge smile to her face. She said she loved Roger because he was such a good sport and didn’t throw his racquet down. That was such a special memory that will remain with all involved forever.

Win’s family would also like to thank the wider Clarence Valley Community and beyond, The Clarence Valley Independent for accepting Win into their hearts and lives and making her birthday celebrations such an amazing event this year as well as previous years. She did get much joy and happiness from all the lovely messages and birthday wishes, it did put a big smile on her face, and I am sure touched her heart. We are so lucky we live in such an amazing community and we will hold these memories in our hearts forever.

Thanking you all.
