Thursday Yamba Stableford to Geoff Willis

Thursday saw a good size field with 167 players contesting the midweek Stableford competition, with a large group from Ocean Shores contesting their annual shield against Yamba; we won’t mention the results though. In A Grade all 3 winners returned 35pts with the count back going to Geoff Willis, 2nd was Craig Erskine and 3rd went to Greg Wyllie. A Reserve saw Ken Hall return the score of the day with 42pts giving him the easy win over Col Cromack 38pts and 3rd went to Nick Anderson 38pts. B Grade winner was Graeme Lloyd with 41pts from David Atkinson 39pts and 3rd was Stephen McKenzie 38pts. C Grade winner was Barry Latham who chipped in 3 times to return 40pts from Andrew Spice from Ocean Shores 38pts and 3rd went John Dwyer 37pts on a count back. NTPs were; On the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Russell Cain 69cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th went to Mike Hall 376cm, the SeaFire 10th went to Andre Rizk 141cm, the Yamba Barber shop 12th was Jack Wright 140cm and the SeaFire 17th went to 22 pointer Jamie Pengilly at 74cm. Balls for the day went to 34 with 18 on the back. Saturday Stableford Only 132 players chased the weekend Stableford prize with Peter McGrath winning A Grade with 39pts on a count back from John Daley 39pts and 3rd went to David Miles 38pts. A Reserve saw Greg LaForest prove that it’s all about Greg returning 42pts giving him the win from Andre Dietiker 39pts on a count back from Nick Anderson 39pts 3rd. In B Grade Peter Tzavaras from Grafton returned 41pts giving him the win from Phillip McDougal 40pts and 3rd went to long time sponsor Pup Campbell with 39pts. C Grade saw Matt Souzou take the win with 37pts from Ben Ware 34 on a count back from Ken Collins 34pts. NTPs were; On the 3rd John Wright Pro Shop hole Greg Little was 163cm, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th saw Nick Bryant 266cm, the SeaFire 10th went to Anthony Boyd from Calliope 156cm, the SeaFire 12th went to Greg Doolan 148cm, the Bene Scene 17th was Anthony Boyd again with 363cm and the 2nd shot 17th went to Matt Souzou. Sunday 2 BBB Forty eight players enjoyed the sunshine and ocean breeze to contest the 2 ball best ball with the winners Denise and Bruce Ginn returning 46pts. Runners up were Deirdre Gough and Brian Dwyer 45pts, 3rd went to Trish McDermid and Bruce Petith with 43pts on a count back. NTPs were; Peter Julian and Marilyn Eckersley on the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd, the Kahbu Hair 9th went to Terry Lawes and Sandra Wallace, the Block Café 10th was Russ Cain and Helen Collins and the Sassafras Pizza and Pasta 12th was Kevin Eckersley and Penny Cope.
