THREE RICHMOND VALLEY PROJECTS SHARE IN $1.65 MILLION INVESTMENT BY NATIONALS IN NSW GOVERNMENT

Three projects in the Richmond Valley will share in almost $1.65 million under the latest round of the Nationals in NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF), Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

Richmond Valley Council has been successful in securing $1 million for the overhaul of the Albert Park Tourist Stopover in Casino and $213,000 to revitalise Shark Bay at Evans Head.

Casino Neighbourhood Centre, which provides a range of supports and services for the local community, also fared well with a $433,329 grant to open up more space on the second story of the building which is currently not utilised.

Mr Gulaptis said these major new investments in local facilities is another example of the NSW Nationals in Government’s commitment to improving community infrastructure and services in regional communities.

“We all know how important it is for communities to have great places to come together to build social connections and boost their wellbeing through social interaction, and these grassroots local projects put forward by both Richmond Valley Council and the Casino Neighbourhood Centre is what the Stronger Country Communities Fund is all about.

In the past five years the Stronger Country Communities Fund had delivered more than 2000 grassroots projects, benefiting every local government area in regional NSW.

The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the Nationals in NSW Government’s $3.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, designed to support growing regional centres, activate local economies and improve services and community infrastructure in the regions.
