This disquiet will turn to dismay

Dear Ed,

There is disquiet in the local community regarding the level of commitment of the NSW Government to the refurbishment of the Grafton Base Hospital. This was promised prior to the last election by the present Government and has not yet appeared in a budget or forward estimates.

The Grafton Base Hospital is now not fit-for-purpose and requires this upgrade in order to continue the superior standard of care that our community has been given for many years. The wards are outdated, inadequate and there is a lack of space. It will also be difficult retaining and recruiting nurses and doctors if there is not action.

This disquiet will turn to dismay of the present NSW Government unless funds are allocated in this October budget.

William Cayzer, Grafton
