Cats and kittens for adoption this week:
We get all cats vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. We have adopted out well over 1200 cats over the last 12 years and only a very very small percentage having developed any illness as a result of the change in environment but now we are being extremely careful. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive.
Beth was found at the Grafton Showground by some campers who had been feeding her and her family back in 2015. Before they left they asked around to see if anyone would take them in. Beth came with a funny eye which we thought at first she had partial sight. She had no problem with her eye until 2017 when she got an infection in it. At that time we decided to take the eye in case the eye got worse. She is a beautiful affectionate loving silver tabby with the dots of a Bengal. She was a wonderful mother to not only her babies but to others as well. We would love to find a special loving home for her. She has been desexed, chipped, vaccinated, wormed, heart worm treated and de-flead too!
Hetty is the daughter of Helsa who had her first litter at Townsend back at the end of 2015. Not long after Helsa arrived with the four older kittens we discovered she was pregnant again. She was too far along to do anything so in April 2016 a new litter arrived here at Happy Paws of which Hetty is one of seven born. They have become the extended H team and are also beautiful, naughty, playful mischievous affectionate young cats who love being stroked. They would prefer not to be carried too far but are very happy to cuddle up beside you on jump on your lap for a stroke. We only have four out of the original 12 as the others all have found wonderful loving homes. They have been immunised, desexed and micro-chipped.
Merida was found on her own and no one knew who she belonged to or where she came from! Merci a black Mum took her under her wing and bought her up with her own daughter Meriel. Merida is a lovely gentle soul, can be a little shy with people she does not know. She gets on with all her feline friends in the cattery and like all the cats loves to explore and play. She can be very affectionate but does not push herself forward when people come to visit! She is immunised, micro chipped and de-sexed, and regularly treated for worms and fleas. She is a lovely quiet young lady who is about four years old.
Dogs for adoption for this week:
We get all dogs vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive. All dogs are also tested to make sure that they do not have heart worm. We have rescued and adopted out well over 1300 dogs over the last 12 years.
Bob is a lovely active play pup approximately six months old. He was given to an elderly lady of 92 as a gift and was far too active for her. He needs training and an active family. He has a lovely nature but gets bored easily so needs things to do and places to go and things to experience and see… as all young children do of any species. He would be great at agility or something similar as he grows up as he looks to you for instruction. He is affectionate and wants to please; he also gets on with other dogs. He is desexed immunised and chipped already to go to his new home.
My name is Marlin, I came here with five other greyhounds who were surrendered by their trainer because he could not care for us anymore. We have learnt to play and not take life so seriously any more. We love to zoom and can be mischievous and very playful at times. We can be very lazy and just want to sleep in the sun or to be lounge lizards when we can. We make excellent companions as we loved to be stroked. I love it when my carer comes to sit with me and I just put my head in her lap. I am very loving and affectionate and just happy just to keep my carer company. . He is desexed immunised and chipped already to go to his new home.
Jalene came to us on Easter Sunday afternoon with my sisters. We had been found by the river at Tullymorgan by some lovely people who were fishing and camping for the week-end. They could not find where we had come from as there were no farm houses anywhere to be seen. They rang the pound and several vets but not one could take them as they were not open so they were told to try Happy Paws Haven. Not long after they arrived they became sick with parvo and spent two weeks in hospital. The vet said we had to wait a month before we should vaccinate that and get them desexed. They have recovered fully and are now beautiful playful mischievous naughty pups who need training as all pups do. They have been running round with all the other pups now so are well socialised. They are being desexed today (Monday) so will be ready to go to their new homes by the end of the week.
