Sunday, 24th April was a Stroke event for our 7th Monthly Medal of the season sponsored by Lawrence Golf Club. The day saw cooler very windy weather giving everyone challenging playing conditions including a 10 min downpour near the end of the round. I am informed that the comedy highlight of the day was the club captain in his buggy madly pursuing his escaped umbrella around two dams and fairways and getting soaked in the process. The 9 hole winner with nett 40 was Tony Chester and the r/up Kerry Cook with nett 41 who also got the Monthly Medal as Tony already has medals in the 18 hole competition. The 18 hole medal winner was Peter Capp with nett 75 in a c/b from James Austen. Both Kerry and Peter having a successful week with 2 wins each. The O’Halloran Motors, John Deere Lawn Care sponsored NTP on the 4th went to Tony Chester and on the 5th to Mark Austen. The Maclean Motors sponsored least putts with 14 went to Ray Daniel in a 4-way c/b. Club Balls went to John McCormack, Col Want and Warren Hulme. The Money Tree was won by Tony Berry.
