The Inner Wheel Club of Grafton

The Inner Wheel Club of Grafton annual Jacaranda luncheon has been hailed a huge success with 112 members and guests attending a most enjoyable day; guests coming from as far as Ballina and Port Macquarie.

President Bev Wheelahan greeted the 2019 Jacaranda Queen Ashton Blackadder and her party who attended briefly before heading off to more afternoon engagements. A truly inspirational talk was given by police senior constable Liz Smith about her early life, joining the police service as a mature applicant, her passion for police work and her enjoyment dealing with people in our community. The entertainment was provided by ‘Macleles’, a great ukulele group from the lower river area. Once again our large number of raffle prizes proved very popular and all the while an overhead projector screened photos and memories of the 85 years of Jacaranda festivities compiled by member Heather Prior.
