The Bruce Douglass day at Palm Lake

The weather has been atrocious over the last couple of weeks with the course being closed on most days. Even so we managed to play our round on Tuesday 23 and arranged a 2-person Ambrose on the front 9. Our numbers were limited due to the requirement of walking only but despite all that we had a good round.

Ray Stevens and Kevin Moran won the day with 33.75 nett followed by Denis Kelly and Peter Jarman on 34.325 and with the limited numbers there was no third prize.

NTPs went to Bruce Douglass on the third, where, as a left hander he hit a 5 wood about 10ft off the ground, fading past the water, just missing the bunker on the left and ending up on the back of the green about 30ft from the pin. From there he holed the put for a birdie just like it was the normal thing to do! Well done mate.

On the ninth it was a little more mundane with Peter Jarman putting his tee shot close to the edge of the green and Denis Kelly leaving his put about a foot from the pin.

A good day was shared by all and we hope that carts will be allowed on the course for our next round.
