The Big River RSL Day Club

The Grafton based Club has wound up for 2021 after a very successful Christmas party held last Thursday December 9, and although interrupted by Covid over the past two years the Club is still in a strong position with both members and volunteers ready to return in 2022 with a new program, a new venue, and the most important part… a new cook.

The Club will be moving to the Girl Guide Hall next to the ambulance station in Prince St and according to coordinator Di Vine the new home will be more central, with better access and more convenient for its elderly members.

Area Coordinator for the Northern Rivers, Bev Daley, visited the club with the Osprey RSL Day Club coordinator, Leanne Christie, from Yamba to discuss some new ideas for 2022 and ways to attract new members and volunteers to the club and as Di always says, new members and volunteers are definitely welcome at the Big River RSL Day Club.

The celebration was held at the White House Cafe and all in attendance enjoyed a delicious lunch, and all volunteers and members received a handmade Christmas carry bag donated by Jenny Powell, which was appreciated by all in attendance.

So, if you would like to be part of The Big River RSL Day Club as a member or volunteer in 2022, please give Di a ring on 0412 484 917 for further information.
